The one with a sunday walk

Each year in july, my hometown hosts the international Four Days Marches. Around 40.000 people from all over the world travel to Nijmegen and walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometers daily, for four days long. On the saturday before the marches, till the friday after, the are also all sorts of festivities throughout the city. Concerts, a fair, theatre, beer and lots of fatty foods. Last sunday I got up early to have a walk around town, before it was taken over by party people and sporty march participants. I took lose of photo's, here's a selection.

    1. I don't know much about the history, but the first marches were in 1909 and it was a military event.

    1. It looks a bit creepy to me, the wall thing. I like weird, but I am happy it's a bit of a walk to my place :-)

Nothing like marching 40K only to fill up on fatty snacks ;)
