The one with the things I liked this week (82)

Finding these in my mailbox. They tasted as good as they looked,
filled with an almond cookie and marzipan.

Meeting this awesome door on my sunday walk

And this bee, and the smell of lavender

Dinner with mom (I know, the picture is pretty crappy and doesn't
do it any justice)

I couldn't help myself, they kept calling my name

My friend R. sent me a card from Finland, isn't this a cool stamp?
I know, I'm a nerd. Stamps can get me all excited!

Very happy with the new lamps in my brick and mortar shop,
I would have never ever picked out the previous ones.

How has life been in your corner of the world lately? Any plans for the weekend you are looking forward to? I'll be having dinner with a friend tomorrow and on sunday I will go to the autumn fair in Utrecht with my mom. Hope we can snatch up some goodies for the shop, and we might pay a visit to a museum afterwards. Hope you'll have a great weekend, see you next week!

The one with the button brooch DIY

Lots of people think of brooches as old lady-accessories. I don't, I love them. In my opinion, brooches are awesome. Perfect to spice up a bag or to give some va-va-voom to a white tee. Oh, and don't get me started on brooches and blazers: a match made in heaven! Preferably a whole bunch of them, and the more bling, the better. And how about pinning one to a chunky chain necklace?

What you'll need
  • buttons
  • pins
  • fast drying glue
  • pliers or scissors, in case your buttons don't have flat backs

Use your pliers or a pair of scissors to remove the backs of the non-flat-back buttons, mine are made of plastic, so this was easy peasy.

Most of the time, I'm a pretty messy crafter, so I used a piece of paper to protect my workspace when I started with this part. Assemble the brooches before glueing away and see which combo works the best for you. After that, let the glueing begin!

Let the assembled buttons dry and after that, glue the pins to the backs.

What's your accessory of choice? Are you a brooch aficionado like me? Have you been doing some crafting lately? If you have a blog post with a cool project, feel free to share it in the comments section below, I'd love to read more about it! If you'd like to see some more tutorials, you can find them here, for example the sharpie plate in the last photo.

The one with the easter bunny

Easter is quite a bit of time ago, I know. Back then my mom gave me this chocolate Easter bunny. If you ever get the chance to get your hands on Lindt chocolate: take it! It's one of my favourite brands of chocolate (when we were in Rome, there was A WHOLE LINDT STORE full of these heavenly treats), and I think it's not a bad thing it's not widely available over here. That would be too much temptation for me to resist.

Anyway, I have a little confession to make: I am a bit quirky when it comes to food. The order in which things should be eaten, the way it should be cut (slices of cheese DO taste better than cubes) and more crazy stuff like that. Another one: I do not like eating food that is shaped like animals. I just don't have the heart to eat it. Well, almost. This bunny had been sitting on a shelf for months. Until my sweet tooth started begging me to eat The Bunny. I started looking for other treats in cupboard, to save bunny's life. But none were there, so I obliged.... Poor thing! Do you have any food related quirks?

The one with rainy Etsy picks

Lots of rain came pouring down from the skies yesterday, and lots more is coming our way. In my opinion rain and fun don't go together, but these items I've spotted on Etsy might be able to change my mind. How has the weather been lately in your corner of the world?

The one with boozy popsicles

Last month I treated myself to popsicles molds and immediately put them to good use by making strawberry and greek yoghurt popsicles. In the comments Kerry from Love Those Hands at Home suggested to make boozy ones the next time. Sounded like a perfect plan to me! So here you have it, boozy popsicles, inspired by a cocktail I like: Amaretto sours.

What you'll need:
  • half a lemon
  • a big glass of cloudy applejuice
  • a big tablespoon of honey
  • a shotglass of Amaretto
Squeeze the juice from the lemon

In a bowl, mix together all of the ingredients and give a good stir

Fill the molds, I had enough mixture for five popsicles

Put the molds in the freezer, I let them freeze for 24 hours

Have you ever made boozy treats? Or do you have a favourite cocktail recipe that might be turned into popsicles?
